Margaret Tynan was elected Mayor of Kilkenny eight times. She died in 2007 and her papers were donated by Elaine Bradshaw to the Kilkenny Archives. She was one of the founding members of Kilkenny Social Services, the Citizens' Advice Centre, the Business and Professional Women's Association, the Kilkenny Soroptimists and the Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre.
A selection of her papers have been copied for consultation in the context of the exhibition of 'Still, We Work' in Callan, and as part of the curated programme of events and research library located at Callan Workhouse Union. Comments are closed.
